Conference 2015

The project will begin with a one-day conference, to be held on 19 March 2015 at the University of Cambridge. By focusing on posterity in France in the period 1650-1800, we aim to start constructing a framework for the broader study: examining the various areas or disciplines in which posterity is a key theme, considering the specificity of the eighteenth century in the development of the concept of posterity, and identifying the kinds of questions we might ask of a larger temporal and geographical corpus. For further information on the programme, participants and practical details, follow the links. To register, complete this form. And to see the original call for papers (disponible aussi en français), see here

The conference is funded by a Cambridge University Humanities Small Research grant, for which we are very grateful.
